Solar and battery, designed together from day one.
Solar generates in the daytime and most homes use more power in the evening. A battery bridges that gap. Designing the two as one system means the panels, inverter, battery and electrics are matched, rather than added one after another.
Make more of every unit you generate.
Without storage, much of a home's solar generation is used only while the sun is out and the rest is exported. With a battery, more of it is kept for the evening. Our payback calculator models this hour by hour and shows a range rather than a single figure. Results are estimates, not guarantees.
Higher self-use
Store daytime surplus and use it after dark instead of exporting it.
One matched system
Panels, inverter, battery and electrics designed together.
Off-peak charging
A battery can also charge at cheaper off-peak rates where your tariff allows.
Ready for a charger
Plan for EV charging now or add it later without redoing the system.
Three routes to solar and storage.
Where you start depends on what you already have.
Solar and battery together
The full system from day one, sized to your roof and your evening demand.
- One survey and one design
- Matched components
- Combined system priced together
Battery added to existing solar
Add storage to panels you already have, subject to inverter compatibility.
- Compatibility checked first
- Improves use of existing generation
- Monitoring set up on your phone
Solar now, battery later
Panels first, with the system designed so a battery can be added when it makes sense.
- Battery-ready design
- Spread the cost
- No rework later
How we design a combined system.
The battery is sized last, once we know what the panels will make and when you use it.
Survey
Roof, shading, supply, fuse board and your usage through the day.
Size the array
Panel count and layout for your roof and demand.
Size the battery
Capacity matched to your evening use and tariff.
Install and test
Installed, commissioned and handed over with monitoring.
Honest advice on whether a battery is worth it.
Not every home needs a battery. If it won't save you money, we won't recommend it. Our calculator shows solar-only and solar-plus-battery side by side so you can see the difference for your own home.
- Solar-only and combined figures side by side
- Payback with assumptions listed
- A battery only where it makes sense
- App monitoring of generation, storage and use
- Room to add EV charging later
One team for the panels and the electrics.
A battery connects to your consumer unit and inverter, so the electrical work matters as much as the equipment.
Usage first
We size the system to how you actually use electricity.
Safe integration
Protection, isolation and commissioning done properly.
Future planning
EV charging and expansion considered from the outset.
Common questions about solar and battery systems.
Do I need a battery with solar?
Not always. A battery can improve how much of your generation you use, but it depends on your usage, tariff and budget. We show both options so you can compare.
Can I add a battery later?
Yes. We can design the solar system to be battery-ready.
How does the calculator work out my saving?
It models a typical day hour by hour: what your panels generate, what your home uses, what a battery stores and what is exported. The occupancy, tariff and battery settings are our own planning assumptions and are labelled as such, and results are shown as a range. Your real figure depends on your household. The methodology page lists every assumption.
Does a battery need a special tariff?
No, but some tariffs let a battery charge cheaply overnight, which can add to the saving.
