Accessibility statement

How we are working to make this website usable by everyone, and what to do if you hit a problem.

Last updated 4 October 2026.

Our aim

We want everyone to be able to use this website. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

What we have done

  • Pages use headings, landmarks and labelled controls so that screen readers can make sense of them.
  • You can use the whole site, including the menu and the calculator, with a keyboard, and focus is visible.
  • Text is set to scale when you change your browser’s text size, and pages work on phones and tablets.
  • Animations respect your device’s reduced-motion setting, and the home page has a button to pause motion.
  • Images that carry meaning have text descriptions.

Where it may fall short

  • We have checked this site ourselves but it has not yet had an independent accessibility audit, so there may be problems we have not found.
  • The home page includes interactive animation and a drawing of a house over a day. These are decorative or illustrative, and the figures they show are also given in text.
  • Some diagrams on service pages are illustrations without detailed text equivalents.
